"Taipei National Palace Museum - Sacred Treasures" exhibition tour report
The "Taipei National Palace Museum - Divine Treasures" exhibition is currently being held at the Tokyo National Museum in Ueno from June 24th to September 15th.
The famous "Jadeite Cabbage" is being exhibited overseas for the first time from Taiwan.
The exhibition period for "Emerald Cabbage" will be short, until July 7th.
This was my first time seeing it since I saw it at the Taipei Palace Museum over 30 years ago. At the museum, there were no crowds and I was able to view it at my own pace, but this time, you have to stand in a line about 1m away from the museum and view it through a glass box. Normally, the wait time is more than 3 hours during the day. I recommend going after work at around 6pm, when there is a sign saying that the wait time is about 60 minutes, but in reality, I was able to see the "Emerald Cabbage" after waiting 30 minutes. The exhibition is open until 8pm. The photo above is a replica souvenir.
Check out the real photos online.
In addition, 186 precious exhibits are on display, including treasures from the Taipei Palace Museum, including celadons, paintings, calligraphy, bronzes, poetry scrolls, and jade art.
It will probably take more than two hours just to have a quick look.
If you want to get a closer look, we recommend bringing opera glasses, binoculars, or monoculars so you can see the details of paintings, etc.
